Welcome to Help a Child in Sri Lanka

We have been helping underprivileged children in Sri Lanka by donating books, educational materials, clothes, toys etc at our personal capacity for an extended period of time. One year we asked our circle of close friends to donate unwanted books, clothes, toys etc to donate to these kids and we had an overwhelming response from everyone. So we decided to take this project a step further and to get everyone involved in this meritorious deed of helping a child in need. Help a Child in Sri Lanka was born with the sole purpose of helping underpriviledged children in various parts of Sri Lanka.

The project is to bring clothes, toys, books and other educational materials to the underprivileged children in Sri Lanka and give them a chance progress in life through reading and education. Our aim is to collect unwanted second hand or even new books, educational materials, children’s toys and children’s clothes and then donate them to underprivileged children in Sri Lanka.It is also our hope that through this simple initiative, we will find like-minded people who are ready, willing and able to contribute their time and efforts in helping us to the help these children.

Since the inception of this project we have come a long way and have helped thousands of children in various ways. We receive donations from all kind hearted Sri Lankans and we should also mention the donations that are collected via our office in the UK. We have received donations from various other countries including a group regular donors from Singapore headed by Phylliss, donations from Japan, donations from UAE, donations from South Africam donations from Scotland and many other foreign donors who travel to Sri Lanka have donated items towards projects. 


Also for legal reasons let us mention here that we are not a registered charity body. We are a group of friends and family who are trying to help out the needy out there. We do not accept cash donations due to the said reasons. We as a family bear all logistic costs and any costs incurred while distributing the items as well. There is no other satisfaction than seeing the smile on a kids face by donating even the smallest thing which will make a significant difference in their lives.
